News: Steam Workshop - The Overhealing

I've added a new item to the Steam Workshop... The Overhealing. It is a helmet for the Medic in Team Fortress 2, based off the headgear of the evil Mumm-Ra from the original 80's version of the cartoon 'Thundercats'. Why Mumm-Ra? Because Robin Atkin Downes, the voice actor of the Medic, was chosen to play the voice of Mumm-Ra in the new reboot of the Thundercats cartoon. The name 'The Overhealing' is a play on Mumm-ra's title, 'The Everliving'. Check here for the item's profile on the Steam Workshop.

Demo Reel Video: Team Fortress 2 Items

Team Fortress 2 is a PC first-person-shooter style game. Over the years, Valve has added collectible accessories to the game, such as clothing and new weapons. More recently, they've enabled fans to submit their own 3D work for consideration, and if Valve liked the items, they'd become part of the game. These are the items that I have submitted to Valve, some of which have already been accepted.

Demo Reel Video: Excavator and Street Base

I was inspired to do this project when 1 of the 2 seasons in Winnipeg (Winter and Construction) started. Naturally, most excavators are a little better kept than this, but I had wanted to practice making dirt and rust textures. In the end, I think all of the embellishments make it look like a beat-up, yet dependable machine.

Demo Reel Video: Video Holiday Greeting

This video was made to be sent to friends and family as a video greeting card. With the holiday deadline looming, I quickly finished all of the modeling and texturing in the scene. I had barely a week left as I began to render the scene... which took 3 weeks to do. Better belate than never? This project was a real eye-opener regarding just how time consuming rendering can be, and the value in having a render farm.
